Our Trip To Diamond Caverns

The light that you see in the middle of the photo is the original opening. A 12 year old boy discovered this cave and was tied to a rope and lowered into the cave. The boy thought that the silver look on the cave wall was diamonds, that is how the cave got its name.

In this area of the cave they use to have open for weddings but no longer do.

If you look at the photo below closely you can see where the stalactites have been cut off. This is the affects of the cave wars. Cave wars happened in the older days when the caves would fight for tourists.

The curved multi colored part of the cave you see is nicknamed cave bacon.

This is a stalagmite, it builds up in the cave.

We really enjoyed the tour and we even got an amazing work out climbing more than 350 steps.
