The Surgery

It all starts on the morning of Sept 2nd. I wake up take a shower and wash with the special soap the hospital gave me. Angela, (my girlfriend) her mom and I get in the car and head to the hospital. My mom and step dad meet us there, actually beat us there.
I get to the hospital and register, they hand me the little round pager and casually told me to have a seat and wait for it to light up. So, I walk over to my girlfriend and my mom and tell them have to wait, and I think to myself not much longer and you will be without your gall bladder. The pager lights up and I begin my journey to surgery.
I walk in the room and they tell me to pee in a cup. I pretty much tell them that ain't happening I had just went to the restroom, so forget that idea. The nurse looks at me and says, well we can draw blood. I look at her and say that is what we will have to do, I haven't drank anything and I don't have to pee so lets get some blood and get on with the surgery. As they are taking my blood I look over at Angela and say, I can tell them I am not pregnant, is it not obvious.
We make our way to surgery waiting, I go in give them my papers and what the hell, another pager, take this and when it lights up come to the desk. So, I take the pager and have a seat with Angela, her mother, my mother, and my step dad. Joy! joy! I can't wait! About ten minutes later the pager lights up and away I go. I give the pager to my mom and head to the back. I get in the wonderful hospital gown and they get me ready and ask, well who do you want to see first. I am thinking I want to see Angela but I want to see my mom also. So, I continue to think, I want to see Angela right before they take me away so I say my mom, no wait send Angela back first. Why cant they both come back I asked. I guess my wish came true, they both came back and I spent time with both of them till they took me away.
I gave all the nurses a nickname the anesthesiologist was named happy, because she had the goods. I named the doctor doc of course, and I ended up with the name dopey, I guess because I was drugged, lol. The doctor comes in asks to say a prayer and I say no problem. Then I meet nurse happy again for the last time, that remember. I get my hugs and kisses from my mom and Angela and away the nurses take me. I remember telling the nurses that I always wondered if the lights was what people look at while being wheeled away. She laughed and said that it was the medicine kicking in, lol. Then we turn the corner and I see 2 big doors and above them, I read out loud, surgery unit. I would have to say the nurses got a good laugh out of that and the fact that I told them, man this is a big room. The last thing I remember is a mask put on me and them telling me to take deep breaths. I breathe in and out, 1 in and out, 2 that is it. I was out cold, off to surgery.
